Bahjat Razzaq Muheydeen
He earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Baghdad, Iraq, in 1980, followed by an MSc in Nuclear Chemistry in 1988 and a PhD in Theoretical Quantum Chemistry in 1998 from the same institution. He has been serving as a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Baghdad since 2002. His academic journey includes roles as Assistant Professor (1995–2002), Lecturer (1990–1995), Assistant Lecturer (1988–1990), and Laboratory Assistant (1980–1988), all at the College of Science, University of Baghdad.
Title of theses:
MSc thesis “Measurement of natural radioactivity of Iraqi cement and analysis of its constituent elements using nuclear and spectroscopic methods NGS, NAA and WDXRF” 1988.
PhD thesis “Calculation of equilibrium geometry of some crown ethers and determination of their outer electrons energy levels and comparison of their ability to form complexes with metal ions” 1988.
Research & Professional Experience:
Computational chemistry (advanced programmes in theoretical and
quantum chemistry, and in molecular sciences).
Advanced analytical chemical instrumentations (spectrospic and nuclear).
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in nuclear chemistry and quantum chemistry (ab initio, DFT theory).
Supervision of graduate students’ research both MSc and PhD.
Development of some biologically active molecules for cancer therapy.
Environmental monitoring of radiation pollution.
Industrial:
Development of industrial processes for the production of calcium chloride.
Improvement of refining processes (production of high octane fuels)
Industrial management of enterprise in the petroleum industry.

Chemical research papers (30), conference papers and reports, industrial reports and studies, supervised MSc and PhD theses.
